BRONCHOSCOPY

BRONCHOSCOPY

Bronchoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that can aid in the diagnostic evaluation of clinical signs referable to the trachea and  bronchial tree of dogs and cats.

A bronchoscopy is commonly used to make a diagnosis for persistent coughs, bleeding, abnormal x-rays, possible lung infection, to remove foreign bodies or masses in the airway, or if damage has been done to the airway.

Bronchoscopy facilitates visual examinations and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) reducing the chance of missing diagnoses.

Bronchospy is an helpful tool when evaluating a pet with a possible respiratory problem that cannot otherwise be diagnosed and/or as a treatment when there are foreign bodies in the airway.
